Julia Oulton is a natural leader with a talent for making connections and building lasting partnerships for her clients and customers. Having built successful businesses for herself and others, Julia has leveraged her consultative sales, strategic planning and negotiating abilities to assist her clients and their teams with entering new markets and securing deals.

Julia began her business career with IBM at the time when they were expanding in the new era of PCs. She excelled as a sales associate and was promoted into successive leadership roles throughout the ten years she was with the company. Julia’s strong entrepreneurial drive and knack for forging relationships resulted in her recruitment to a series of freelance consultative roles. She is known for identifying new revenue streams for clients and opening doors to new markets – on one occasion by re-positioning an existing technology from an environmental space to a commercial one and securing Fortune 500 contracts for the client. Along the way, Julia also successfully owned and operated Pride Technologies, a consumer electronics distribution business with teams across North America and Europe.

During the 20 years that she has run her own consulting business, Julia has worked with clients in a variety of industries, from IT and other technologies to the nutrition and health care industry and the not-for-profit sector. Now this dynamic senior business strategist has turned her attention to the role of TEC Chair for Small Business and CEO groups.

TEC Group Vision

Julia’s natural talent for looking at an issue from different angles and her commitment to life-long learning and innovation has positioned her perfectly for the role of TEC Chair. She believes that “we don’t always have all the answers, we sometimes need others to see that there are new ways to solve old problems.” Her passionate and innovative approaches to sales strategy and building positive, productive relationships will be a benefit to members from every industry and every stage of business.

Julia is married to Dennis and has two step-children, Heather and Kevin. Julia is passionate about health, having obtained training as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. She received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal at Buckingham Palace for her decades of volunteer commitment. In her spare time, Julia enjoys spending time in the outdoors, golfing, sailing or walking her spirited Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Moxie.
