CBC Feature: How Sales of Sunflower Seeds are Aiding Ukrainian People
TEC member Aaron Saks, President of West Coast Seeds, is vowing 100% of sales in March of sunflower seeds for the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal. The campaign raised more than $21,000 in the first few days. Read the full story here.
Numerous TEC Members Among Finalists for Prestigious Quebec Competition
Launched in 1981 by the Federation of Quebec Chambers of Commerce (FCCQ), the Mercuriades competition is today’s most prestigious business competition in Quebec. Each year, it celebrates innovation, ambition, entrepreneurship and the performance of local businesses, both in SMEs and in large companies. This year, several TEC members and their businesses are finalists across multiple categories. View which members are nominated.
TEC Member Launches High Speed Internet Service for Rural Residents – Lands Federal Funding
TEC member Chris Yeo – an IT specialist and Partner at Professional Computer Services in Saskatoon – was unhappy with the internet options available at his acreage and decided to take matters into this own hands. Upon installing his own fibre cable, he invited neighbours along the route to hook up and soon, began delivering high speed service to a host of rural residents. The project, known as Prairie Crocus Rural Internet was so impressive that the federal government announced funding for it. Read the full story here.
