TEC Canada is a leadership development organization that empowers and supports business leaders who in turn run successful companies and organizations, the backbone of Canada. We aim to build a community of trust and growth where we lift one another to reach goals and overcome obstacles.

The challenges facing Canadian business leaders are increasingly complex. It’s easy to feel overloaded with information, stretched and alone. Leaders are looking for a safe harbour where they can receive advice and support. TEC provides deeper insights that can make a real impact in your business, your career, and your life.

TEC offers six different types of peer advisory groups, each purpose-built for unique leadership levels, including CEOs, key executives, business owners and emerging leaders. We take great care to match you to the right peer group by considering your organizational size, stage of development and competitive landscape.

A business group is a safe place where business owners and entrepreneurs can come together to share their knowledge and expertise to facilitate each others’ growth and success.

Our programs consist of peer groups of 12-16 members from non-competitive industries. These meetings are facilitated by an experienced business leader who also meets with members one-to-one for personalized business coaching.

We focus on supporting small business owners to grow their businesses and as leaders in five specific ways:

  1. Through making informed decisions in the high-stakes, fast-paced environment of business by setting up operations to run so you can step back and look at the bigger picture.
  2. By holding group members accountable for the steps they commit to. With accountability, decisions are seen through to completion, ensuring they have maximum impact.
  3. Encouraging growth as leaders, not just businesses. Companies are extensions of the leaders that guide them, so for an organization to grow, the leaders behind them must grow themselves.
  4. By coming together to break free from isolation. As a small business owner, you probably find yourself making big decisions alone. That’s why we bring leaders from a variety of industries together to share experiences and receive unbiased feedback.
  5. Change is constant, so along with all the aforementioned avenues, TEC members thrive by continuing to uplift each other, their businesses, and the economy as we face ever-changing challenges.

All this is accomplished through the four primary components of TEC: Peer groups, one-to-one coaching, thought leadership, and our global business group network.

TEC Chairs are experienced professionals with multiple years of business experience in senior leadership roles, performance coaching, consulting, or successful entrepreneurship, looking to share their knowledge and give back to the Canadian business community. Beyond just being a facilitator for business groups, they are the mentors responsible for guiding the peer groups, choosing speakers for the group, and giving individual advice in one-to-one meetings with their members.

One-to-one executive coaching pairs you with a mentor (Chair) who challenges you and enhances your ability to grow strategically and overcome obstacles. Delving into your personal and professional challenges is essential for achieving high levels of success.

All our sessions—one-to-one, peer group meetings, and speaker sessions—work together to ensure you gain maximum benefit for your organization and leadership development. Therefore, these offerings are combined in a package.

Yes, all meetings are confidential. Each TEC Chair and member undergoes an evaluation and signs an NDA before joining TEC. If any member discloses confidential information, they will be asked to leave. Additionally, members are assigned to groups where there are no direct competitors, ensuring that TEC peer groups remain a safe space for members to discuss their issues in a non-competitive and non-judgmental environment.
