Here are some tips to manage employee wellness during the pandemic. If you’re a business owner, leader, or manager – read these:

Tip #1

Check-Ins

Share responsibility for employee check-ins. Have each member of the senior management team contact a certain group of people via phone/video calls for one-on-one chats. Don’t wait for your employees to come to you.

Tip #2

Share Resources

Make sure people are aware of all the mental health resources and support in their community and online.

Tip #3

Meditation

Host free online meditation classes for your team members and bring them together.

Tip #4

Gratitude

Practice gratitude and have people reflect on the positives in their life. It is important to shift negative states, as constant negativity is a virus in and of itself.

Tip #5

Observe

Stay attuned to your emotions. They can offer warning signs of distress. If you find yourself snapping at the people around you over little things, you need to pause and reflect on how you’re feeling.

Tip #6

Emotional Intelligence

Work on building up your EQ, as it will help you respond appropriately during these times. Leaders with high EQ are better at handling people and pressure in the face of adversity.

Tip #7

Talk to Someone

If you’re a CEO or business owner, monitor your mental health. Talk to friends, peers, a psychologist, a coach, or a therapist.
