Steven Owen’s 160 km Ride Raises $18,600 for Cancer Research

The Northern Pass to Conquer Cancer returned to Muskoka for its eighth year and Steven Owen—President at Owen & Associates and a TEC Canada member—completed an incredible 160 km ride and raised $18,600 to propel life-saving cancer research forward, improving patient care in Canada and around the globe.

Together, 2023 participants and teams of the Northern Pass to Conquer Cancer raised a record-breaking $1 million for life-saving cancer research. A remarkable number that should be celebrated by everyone involved. We applaud all riders, sponsors, and supporters—your endless determination and unwavering commitment to conquering cancer is an inspiration to all.

DILFO Mechanical Among 2023 Best Places to Work Recipients

DILFO Mechanical has been named among the Ottawa region’s best employers for the second consecutive year! Participants in the program were ranked according to the results of employee and employer questionnaires and surveys conducted by the U.S.-based Workforce Research Group.

Employees were asked to rate the performance of their workplace in categories such as leadership and planning, corporate culture, job satisfaction, training, and pay and benefits. Employers, meanwhile, filled out an extensive questionnaire that determined what types of benefits they provide to employees and assessed how their workplaces address issues ranging from work-life balance to diversity.
