Hello!
A Little Bit About Me
I believe in an inspirational management style, where I strive to earn the trust and respect of colleagues through openness and transparency.
With a wealth of experience spanning media, manufacturing, mergers and acquisitions, sales, marketing, international trade, and “turn around” management, I bring an experienced executive perspective to the table.
For over 25 years, I have been a significant contributor to the Canadian media industry, serving as the publisher of The Financial Post. I also served as CEO of a dynamic international aerospace corporation for nine years. My involvement in various projects extends to my role as the Principal of SharpEnd Consulting. These projects have ranged from providing strategic advice for a German aerospace corporation to advising Canada’s leading newspaper company on the journey from legacy media to the digital workplace. Additionally, I am also a Senior Advisor to the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.
Beyond my professional endeavours, I am also recognized as a community leader, influencing projects both in Canada, and my native home, Belfast. I co-founded the establishment of Ireland Park on Toronto’s waterfront and have served as Chair and Board member of the Ireland Fund of Canada, providing funding for the establishment of integrated schools in Northern Ireland as a contribution to the establishment of peace.
On a personal note, I am happily married with two children in Toronto. I earned my MBA from Queen’s University in 1997 and am an avid newspaper reader and believer in trusted news sources. As well, I am a documentary watcher, podcast listener, and amateur war historian. Currently, I serve as a Board member and Director of Public Affairs for The Battle for Hill 70, a WW1 commemorative project.
