“The value I received both—professionally and personally—from being a TEC member for over 20 years was as they say “priceless”. With my then TEC groups help in exiting my businesses in a perfectly structured and profitable way it was only appropriate that I continue my connection to TEC as a chair.”

Hello!

A Little Bit About Me

After three winters of skiing in the French Alps and lifeguarding in the summers post-university in England, I moved to Canada in my twenties with $500 in my pocket and a dream. Canada was—and I believe still is—a land of opportunity. I became President (and later owner) of King Marketing, a national sales agency representing Fortune 500 companies. Our revenue was almost entirely derived from commissions. If we did not sell, we would not survive. While I was the majority owner, I had other partners and over the years as they exited and new partners were identified, I gained so much insight into the dynamics of partnerships and business operations. I started other companies, Knight Sales and Distribution, a distribution company, and PickSee, a software company and TEC helped me every step of the way. We grew from our Western Canadian roots to become a national agency with over 200 employees. Through recessions, growth phases, and even a pandemic, TEC was there like a safety blanket the whole time. My group members became confidants and close personal friends. Maximising the value of my companies and selling them in an orderly fashion was the final “feather in TEC’s cap”.

Personally, I love to ski, golf and play tennis. I am currently the Vice President of Tennis BC, a not-for-profit volunteer organization affiliated with Tennis Canada and promoting the sport to all. I love many other sports but with my English roots, soccer and rugby are two of my favourites. I have two adult daughters, one living in Vancouver and one in New York City.
