Hello!

A Little Bit About Me

As a TEC Chair, I bring a unique blend of entrepreneurial spirit and corporate experience to my role. With over 20 years in commercial real estate, I’ve led successful projects and built strong partnerships through roles at Avatex Developments Inc., Melcor Developments Ltd., and Avison Young Commercial Real Estate. Currently serving as President of Avatex Developments Inc., I’ve guided the company through economic uncertainty and a global pandemic to deliver several developments.

My expertise in negotiation, sales, construction, and tenant relations, coupled with my Alberta real estate license and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Alberta, ensures I provide meaningful value to business leaders looking for a trusted advisor and peer group.

One of the highlights of my career was leading a multi-stakeholder partnership between the health authority, the City of Melfort, and Avatex. This collaboration resulted in the construction of a 17,000-square-foot medical facility attached to the local hospital—a project the City had pursued for more than a decade. The centre initially welcomed 10 doctors and has since expanded to 14, significantly improving healthcare for over 25,000 residents in the surrounding area.

From 2010 to 2014, I also helped transform the Canadian Mental Health Edmonton golf tournament into a major fundraiser, increasing annual donations from $7,000 to over $60,000. I’ve supported the Junior Achievement program as well, mentoring students in business fundamentals, financial literacy, and leadership.

I have been married for over 20 years and recently relocated with my family from Edmonton to Kelowna. Since then, we’ve embraced the Okanagan lifestyle. Spending weekends skiing at Big White, hiking and biking in the hills, and enjoying the incredible scenery. I’ve also started to dip my toe into the wonderful world of smoked BBQ.
