Hello!
A Little Bit About Me
As a highly skilled coach and mentor, I have spent decades building high-performance teams in the business world. Drawing from my experience as a TEC Canada member for nearly ten years, I have recently transitioned my corporate career to a part-time position as a TEC Chair. In this role, I am committed to cultivating the power of a peer group for fellow business leaders in the Niagara, ON region.
My professional journey began as a consulting engineer, where I worked on waste projects across Canada. For the past 15 years, I served as the Executive Vice President of the Environmental Division at Walker Industries. In this role, I oversaw a diverse portfolio of businesses in the environmental field. Specializing in P3 (Public-Private Partnerships) with municipalities and strategic joint ventures, I successfully started and scaled new businesses in various industries. Currently, I serve on two Corporate Boards and hold a position as a Board Member of the Ontario Clean Water Agency.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am an active volunteer in the Niagara community, currently serving as the Chair of the YMCA of Niagara and on the Capital Planning Committee of the Niagara Health System. Additionally, I was also the founding President of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and the Niagara Health Foundation.
On a personal note, I hold a license as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario. Originally from Scotland, I moved to Canada in 1981 with my wife. My daughter has settled back in the UK and works as a CA with Deloitte in the Cardiff office, where I frequently visit. Outside of my professional pursuits, I am an avid athlete, often biking and running in my spare time. As well, I play and sing in a well-known Niagara rock band, adding a creative dimension to my life.
