Professional
With more than 25 years of experience as a trusted advisor to CEOs, presidents, small business owners, and leaders of large enterprises, Ian Gunn has helped people and organizations from coast to coast create a remarkable impact. Now, equipped with a broad range of experience to transform leaders in a multitude of industries, Ian consciously chose the role of TEC Chair to share his expertise and embark on a meaningful new journey.
Ian’s notable professional career at PwC Canada began in 1985, originally becoming a partner in 1996 with Coopers & Lybrand and after the historic merger with Price Waterhouse, continued as a partner with PwC. In 2005, Ian moved with his family to Calgary to lead up the Private Company Services team and also PwC’s Leader for Real Estate Services where he specialized in helping business leaders with financial reporting processes, accounting, tax, and business issues. Ian’s client experience spanned cities across Canada and in the UK, causing him to accumulate coveted insights and a deep understanding of a variety of businesses and economies in the process. Ian was also a member of the Board of PwC for eight years where he served on various committees including Governance, Finance, and Partner affairs – cementing a strong understanding of governance needs and operational growth, as the board exhibited oversight of operations for one of the largest professional services firms in Canada.
For decades, Ian interacted with several TEC members who also were his clients at PwC. Having already witnessed how TEC membership empowered the CEOs he worked with to grow as individuals and have their businesses flourish as a result, Ian naturally gravitated to the role of TEC Chair to continue his passion for working with CEOs. By joining Ian’s group, you will promptly capitalize on his experience and expertise – and be surrounded by high-performing peers who are committed to personal and professional excellence– and helping you achieve the same.
