Jamie’s Topics
Based on Jamie’s recent appearance on Global’s, The Morning Show, participants will create a vision board in which personal values are the foundation.
A values board is a powerful tool to visualize what matters most to us in our life, what we’re grateful for along our journey and provides an instant roadmap to help us achieve our goals.
It can be used personally to bring positive change into your life. You can do it as a wonderful Sunday activity with your family. It can also be used professionally to revise and refine our purpose, processes, values and meaningful outcomes that we hope to achieve.
Presentation Description:
The most important thing an emerging leader does can do is help people be more effective, grow and develop. One-on-ones are the best opportunity to accomplish this. Each person on your team has different communication needs.
This session is based on simulated, real-world part scripted, partly planned and part improvised one-on-one conversations. It’s the most successful and engaging way to bring out the best in each team member for the business conversations that matter most.
Accompanying Workshop Details:
Afternoon Exercise Option #1: (Estimated Time-frame: 40 min. to 60 min.)
Page #8: Mentoring Team Members: Self-Reflection Questions
Guidelines: Each team member writes down answers to 3 of the questions provided. Give approximately 7-10 minutes to answer the questions individually first.
Each team member chooses 2 of their answered questions to share with the larger group.
As the Chair, you can choose to ask follow-up questions to help facilitate insights and open it up to the other team members to ask curiosity-based questions.
Afternoon Exercise Option #2: (Estimated Time-frame: 40 min. to 60 min.)
Page #6 Business Scenario Prompts plus one of the performance review simulated scenarios or
Page #1 (Do a second one): How to have a courageous conversa>on to deal with conflict at work
Guidelines: Each team member thinks of a work-based scenario they might face in the coming months related to a performance review or a relationship/task-related conflict with a colleague (that they did not address in the morning session).
They then work through either page #6 paired with a performance review scenario (see outlines in hand-out) or page #1.
Each team member then shares their scenario with the larger group. As Chair, you can facilitate insights and open it up for questions from the other members to help the individual member in dealing with this upcoming challenge.
Afternoon Exercise Option #3 (Estimated Time-frame: 20-30 min.)
Ques>on addressed to the group:
*What was most useful for you today/this afternoon? or
*What were your top take-aways?
Chair can choose to answer this question first or last to model the level of depth and specificity you might expect.
Ask each team member to respond.
Member Action Item:
Follow through by having a one-on-one using one of the frameworks or templates as a guide.
Report back to the Group what went well, what didn’t, and what you would improve the next time.
We will use relevant, validated, data-informed THE LEADERSHIP CIRCLE interactive tools to take a snapshot of your strengths as a business leader. The business world is changing fast. Your business model is changing too. But you rarely get the chance to reflect and adjust. That leaves you struggling to catch up. Jamie Mason Cohen, certified trainer at The Leadership Circle, who once worked for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE will help you see how you are showing up as a leader in your business. He will then guide you in seeing the gap between where you are now and where you would like to be as a leader. When you’re done, you’ll have a roadmap for change and a new way to focus your leadership development work. The Leadership Circle’s 10 year study of 50,000+ business leaders has found that improved leadership effectiveness is directly correlated to improved business performance.
Your life is constantly in motion and it’s a challenge to find quality time to truly be with your partner. You rarely, if ever, get the chance to reflect on your lives together. We will use the incredibly powerful and data-driven Leadership Circle framework and mat – a leading 360 tool that’s been used by over 500,000 leaders worldwide to reflect and measure the energy you spend on developing your strengths. This program will provide space and structured time to connect with your partner, and get to know other members of the TEC community in an inspiring and moving way. It will also weave in quality time to reflect on how you are showing up as a friend, and a member of the TEC community.
In this fully immersive and uniquely structured deep dive workshop, TEC members will reflect on how they are showing up each day for themselves, their partners, their families and the TEC community through the 18 creative competencies (characteristics that are most highly correlated to leadership potential) and the 11 reactive tendencies (characteristics that are most highly correlated to obstacles getting the way of full leadership potential).
Personal development is professional development. When you work on yourself, you work on others. Join 20-year graphotherapist/handwriting analyst and resident handwriting and personal development expert on Global’s, The Morning Show and certified leadership trainer at The Leadership Circle, Jamie Mason Cohen as he explores a different, instant and surprisingly accurate, psychological self-assessment tool that leaves your audience feeling recognized for the unique individuals that they are without discounting all the success they’ve already had. They’ll experience something new, fun, interactive, moving and unique because they’ve seen it all and done it all before. Your traits are your story; let’s write the next chapter.
