Ahead of the “How Are Canadians Reacting to the Shortage Economy?” webinar, David Coletto conducted a large national survey of Canadian adults (n=2,210) and explored several aspects of the economic and social experiences that the shortage economy may be having on Canadians — including questions about supply chains, labour shortages, remote work, and confidence in government support amid the COVID-19 economy.

Specifically, David Coletto wanted to try and answer two questions: How are Canadians experiencing the shortage economy what does it mean for leaders?

By watching the “How Are Canadians Reacting to the Shortage Economy?” webinar, viewers can expect to become equipped with deeper insights from David Coletto surrounding new public opinion data on the consumer and citizen mindset as the Canadian shortage economy heads into 2022.

Viewers will also get access to exclusive data from the Abacus Data team on how consumers are feeling as 2022 kicks off, the impact of inflation, job shortages, and the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally in this presentation, David Coletto gives an update about how Canadians are feeling about the federal political landscape as the new federal minority government focuses on executing its ambitious agenda.

METHODOLOGY

The survey data used in this study is from a national online survey of 2,210 Canadian adults from January 7 to 12, 2022. A random sample of panelists were invited to complete the survey from a set of partner panels based on the Lucid exchange platform. These partners are typically double opt-in survey panels, blended to manage out potential skews in the data from a single source.

The margin of error for a comparable probability-based random sample of the same size is +/- 2.1%, 19 times out of 20.

The data were weighted according to census data to ensure that the sample matched Canada’s population according to age, gender, educational attainment, and region. Totals may not add up to 100 due to rounding.

Abacus Data follows the CRIC Public Opinion Research Standards and Disclosure Requirements that can be found here: https://canadianresearchinsightscouncil.ca/standards/
