In my role as a TEC Chair, I have come to understand that the business landscape is too complex and dynamic for any individual to have all the answers all the time.
For 30 years, I have climbed the ranks through nine different businesses, ultimately reaching the position of Chairman and CEO. My journey included invaluable experiences at renowned companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Apple, and Esso, where I honed my leadership and business- building skills across diverse industries, from blue-chip organizations to entrepreneurial ventures.
My passion for growth and success are evident in the successful turnaround of The Movie Network and my leadership of a new operating division for a Canadian food service company, where I grew revenues to $70 million in five years before selling it for nearly 30 times EBITDA. Having experienced firsthand the challenges that come with leading and growing a business, I can resonate profoundly with TEC’s vision of bringing fellow CEOs together to support each other. Having experienced both success and failure, I recognize the strength of the peer advisory model in providing support to fellow CEOs.
On a personal note, I am a proud native of Toronto, married with four children. I have received the Imperial Oil Chairman’s Award and have achieved three Top 15 finishes at the U.S. Amateur Snowboard National Championships.
