Hello!

A Little Bit About Me

As an electrician at the age of 21, my journey in leadership had already begun as my ability to gain the respect of those around me became apparent to my managers and mentors early on. From there, I obtained my degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and went on to hold leadership roles at Suncor and Trans Alta, eventually reaching to the role of Director of Plant Operations in Fort McMurray.

Throughout my career, I have overseen large teams and consultants, reorganizing, driving change to operational processes, and assumed responsibility for $100 million annual budgets. Throughout my roles, I have demonstrated a fierce commitment to the individual growth of my team members, utilizing coaching and human capital tools to inspire them to achieve exceptional results.

Transitioning from an executive role with a large corporation, I became a reliability consultant, eventually joining the firm of ACM Facility Services. In 2012, I assumed the role of President, implementing a growth strategy that tripled company revenues and revitalized a culture of innovation, passion, and commitment.

As a TEC Canada Small Business Chair, my ability to “light a fire in people” blends with my extensive practical experience and coaching expertise to bring out the best in individuals and teams. I welcome a diverse group of small business members who are driven by a passion for innovation and creativity. These individuals are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of their employees, families, and communities.

On a personal note, I live in Calgary with my wife and four adult children. My interests span outdoor pursuits, weight training, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, I find joy in playing the trumpet, experimenting with the banjo, and attending theatrical performances. I’m a Royal Roads Certified Executive Coach as well as a recipient of the OH&S Award of the Year from Alberta Petrochemical Safety Council. Committed to community outreach, I also invest time mentoring young leaders, both in business and within my church.
