TEC CEO Chair
Great leaders help people discover and grow their talents and abilities to achieve success beyond what they thought possible. “I have seen how much more can be accomplished when leaders lead by lifting others.
TEC Chair Ed McClelland passionately believes in discovering and developing your talents to live your dream, a belief he has lived throughout his career – and in his life. Ed has encouraged his own two daughters to develop their skills as entrepreneurs and to pursue a love of the arts; Melissa McClelland is a leading Canadian chanteuse and lyricist, and Kate McClelland owns a successful yoga studio.
Ed brings this same belief in the power of human growth and potential to his role as TEC Chair. Over the past decade and a half, Ed has helped more than 125 members. He is part of our TEC community in Eastern Canada whose member companies represent approximately 50,000 employees and $23 billion in cumulative annual revenues; demonstrating TEC’s ability to move Canadian business forward and lift the prosperity of our nation as a whole.
To his role of TEC Chair, Ed also brings the expertise of a veteran senior executive and the experience gained from a successful 30+ year career in leading corporations. Honing his passion for business and talent for finance, first with Borg Warner Finance and later, CIBC Finance, Ed rose in both organizations to attain senior vice presidential and presidential roles. Highlights of his career include the launch of Borg Warner’s Australian division, successfully growing and selling it five years later for $200 million.
