For leaders running substantial organizations, the challenge is not ambition, it is maintaining clarity as responsibility grows. As companies scale, decisions carry greater weight, culture becomes more complex, and leadership can become quietly isolating. That isolation comes with a cost, an isolation tax: delayed decisions, narrowed perspective, and the pressure of carrying too much alone.
My journey began in entrepreneurship and evolved through decades as an engineer, founder, CEO, and national executive. I founded GRB Engineering, led it through growth and merger, and later served as a National Vice President in a global organization, overseeing strategy, operations, and teams of more than 200 professionals. I know firsthand the weight of scaling a business and leading through complexity.
I also know the value of TEC because I experienced it as a member. I saw what happens when leaders have a trusted space to think clearly, challenge assumptions, and learn from peers who understand the role.
That is why I became a Chair. Not for the title, and not for the money. I do it to pay it forward.
The group I am building is grounded in humility, mutual respect, and confidentiality. It is a high-trust environment where candour replaces ego, accountability replaces isolation, and leaders help each other make better decisions, build stronger organizations, and create more sustainable success.
