I’ve spent my career leading organizations and advising decision-makers across five continents— delivering results in manufacturing, professional services, cleantech and project management.

Most recently, I served as Chief Operating Officer at Trecan Combustion Ltd., a Nova Scotia-based equipment manufacturer and global leader in its product category. Originally brought in as a consultant, I was invited to join the executive team and co-led the company from 2016 to 2024, increasing its operational effectiveness and expanding its market presence.

Previously, I held senior leadership roles in both businesses and not-for-profit organizations, with a focus on aligning people, operations, and strategy. I opened or expanded new markets, directed multi-year projects across Asia and in Europe, and negotiated complex transactions. Some of that work included helping the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the Governments of Canada and the U.S. plan and launch over USD $400 million in projects. I also contributed to Canadian policy and legislation in innovation and export development.

But for all that, what’s stayed with me most is this: leadership can be lonely, even for the best. I’ve also seen the power of bringing leaders together in a trusted peer group: Fellow leaders who understand their world and aren’t afraid to ask hard questions. That’s why I previously created Business Leaders Roundtables in three regions of Nova Scotia, to give owners and executives a structured space to think clearly, tackle challenges, and make better decisions.

Becoming a TEC Chair builds on that same purpose: creating a trusted, supportive peer environment which helps leaders sharpen their thinking, stay accountable, and lead with greater confidence.

On a personal note, I’m fluent in English and French and a graduate of Yale University’s Corporate Environmental Leadership Seminar. I currently serve on the Board of the Scotia Festival of Music and have previously held similar roles with Shelter Nova Scotia, the Environmental Services Association of the Maritimes, and the Toronto Dance Theatre. As a hobby, I perform live with a Halifax-based rock & roll band. I’m also an avid cyclist, and a global affairs enthusiast with a lifelong passion for sustainability and purposeful leadership.
