We’re growing and looking for a skilled, ambitious, and results-driven Business Development Representative (Executive Membership Advisor) to help expand our community of forward-thinking business leaders. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, vetting, and qualifying CEOs, senior executives, and entrepreneurs who are looking to elevate their leadership skills and take their companies to the next level. Your efforts will be instrumental in expanding TEC’s national network and strengthening our vibrant community of forward-thinking leaders.

You are a self-motivated, curious go-getter who thrives on building meaningful relationships while managing multiple workflows with precision. As the first point of contact for prospective members, you will represent TEC Canada to some of the country’s top business leaders, building rapport, uncovering their goals, and positioning TEC’s services as the solution to help them achieve personal and business success.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team focused on growing, engaging, and celebrating our membership. Reporting directly to the Director of Member Experience, you will play a key role in shaping the future of TEC Canada’s community.

This position is based in Calgary, AB, and operates out of TEC Canada’s downtown Calgary office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, identify, and engage potential CEOs, founders, and senior executives, guiding them through a structured process to ensure alignment with TEC’s membership criteria.
  • Understand prospective members’ business goals and challenges and clearly communicate how TEC’s value proposition can help them achieve meaningful results.
  • Leverage tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and industry insights to build and maintain a strong, ongoing pipeline of high-potential candidates.
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle—from sourcing and qualifying candidates to conducting assessments, finalizing membership agreements, and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Collaborate with TEC Chairs to understand the unique needs and dynamics of their groups, ensuring successful matching based on industry alignment and group culture.
  • Engage with and qualify leads from TEC’s targeted marketing initiatives and implement strategic follow-up to stay connected with past candidates for future opportunities.
  • Accurately track, analyze, and report on recruitment activities in TEC’s CRM system, continuously optimizing strategies and showcasing results.
  • Through continuously building and nurturing a dynamic pipeline of candidates, consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity targets and recruitment goals.
  • Implement a strategic follow-up system to stay connected with past candidates, ensuring readiness to re-engage.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, recruitment, or business development, with a strong focus on cold-calling and a consistent record of achieving or outperforming targets.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. You must be a great listener, as well as confident and comfortable speaking, establishing rapport, and driving action with key decision makers.
  • Expertise in guiding candidates through a sales process, from initial sourcing and engagement to successful closure.
  • Highly organized and self-starter with a passion for success.
  • Have persistence and resilience – you handle objections and rejections well.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or equivalent experience/education.
  • Fluency in both French and English is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, prospecting tools and software, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar CRM.
