Hello!
A Little Bit About Me
I am a well-travelled globally experienced executive coach and the founder of Coaching.EQ. In my role as a TEC Canada Chair, I practice a discipline I call leadership engineering. I help CEOs and business owners apply the same analytical rigor to their leadership development that they would apply to a high stakes technical project. My goal is to help leaders transform their potential into measurable organizational performance.
My career began in the high stakes world of global energy. As a geologist and field engineer, I braved North Sea storms and managed complex deep water exploration projects in the Falkland Islands. These extreme environments taught me a critical lesson: while technical mastery drives innovation, executive decisions are what truly accelerate progress or bring it to a halt. To bridge this gap, I returned to academia to earn a Master of Science in Management with Distinction, adding strategic business acumen to my background in oil and gas engineering.
During my time as a senior research specialist, my commitment to innovation led me to coauthor a U.S. patent for next generation drilling technology. This period reinforced my researcher’s mind and my belief in the power of data driven results.
In 2014, a global industry downturn brought me to a defining crossroads. Despite a track record of exceptional contribution, I experienced the volatility of market forces firsthand through a layoff. Seeking clarity, I partnered with an executive coach. This experience revealed a profound realization: the curiosity and active listening I had practiced as an engineer were the very foundations of professional coaching.
I chose to reinvent my career by earning ICF and EMCC accreditations. I dedicated myself to a new mission: engineering human potential. I founded Coaching.EQ on the principle that leadership is not a soft skill, but a precise strategic asset that can be measured, tracked, and optimized.
