A Little Bit About Me
A lifelong pursuit of taking businesses to new heights has defined my professional journey. From humble beginnings in rural Manitoba to nation-wide engineering & construction companies, I have seen it all. My educational background in engineering and finance paired with my love of building led me to pursue a career in construction management- a fast-paced line of work where I gained valuable experience in managing moving milestones, agility in the workplace, and working toward deadline-driven goals.
This business environment taught me the importance of communication, collaboration, and teamwork. In the twenty years of successfully running and growing my own construction company, I embraced these concepts as being the foundations for success on delivering projects on time and on budget.
I brought the skills I developed with my own company to later take on the role of Vice President at multiple other companies in the construction industry. My focus on enhanced communication, productivity, health and safety awareness, and the value of diversity and inclusion contributed to organizational improvements. Leading by example, I coached and mentored leaders within the organization, fostering excellence, stability, confidence in forecasts, and a reputation as an employer of choice.
Members of my CEO Group can anticipate gaining practical insights and skills based on my firsthand experiences in taking companies to new heights. My passion lies in providing guidance to leaders who are looking to promote growth within their companies through intentional change. I wholeheartedly embrace TEC’s values of trust, challenge, caring, and growth, recognizing the transformative power of leadership development when encouraged, valued, supported, and rewarded.
On a personal note, I’ve been happily married to my wife since 1979 and take pride in being a parent and grandparent. Additionally, I received the President’s Award for Outstanding Dedication and Commitment to Excellence as a minor hockey coach and served as the former President of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Hamilton.
