“After witnessing many ‘lone wolf’ business owners who could have benefited from the resources and coaching TEC provides, I have chosen to share and facilitate lessons learned in my role as a TEC Chair.”
Hello!
A Little Bit About Me
I am an experienced entrepreneur and former executive who has had first-hand experience with the challenges and thrills of starting and growing various businesses. In my latest venture, I founded Athene Offices & Services with the vision to provide 1-stop services and high-end furnished office spaces to other entrepreneurs and businesses. Athene led me to accumulate invaluable entrepreneurial knowledge through the phases of rapid growth, bootstrapping, and extreme economic downturns. After expanding to three locations with over 170 offices in over 50,000 square feet, I successfully negotiated an attractive sale of Athene to Regus – a global leader in the sector.
Before Athene, my 30-year career spanned various industries, allowing me to develop skills at both the employee and executive level, and as an entrepreneur in various businesses. I helped grow one of Calgary’s high-tech success stories as I served as VP of Corporate Services and a member of the Executive Team at Minerva Technology for a decade – during our years of rapid growth and until our sale. My educational background encompasses majors in finance, economics, and education. I earned my RIA accounting designation, completed distance MBA courses, and trained in interior design for fun.
On a personal note, my husband and I have shared nearly 3 decades of marriage, having shared a joint passion for business, learning, sailing, and travel. We have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and our Great Dane, Maggie. Volunteering has been a significant part of my life, including my previous role as Chairman of the Calgary Ice Magic Show, coaching and mentoring numerous employees and young entrepreneurs, and now coaching new Chairs in the TEC community.

A leadership quality I bring to the table is my ability to truly listen and encourage others to uncover and articulate their challenges and issues. As an entrepreneur with successful exits behind me, I wanted to do something to inspire other people to achieve their full potential both personally and professionally. My role as a TEC Chair allows me to do that.
