A Little Bit About Me
As an entrepreneur, angel investor, and dedicated consultant, I’m passionate about inspiring business leadership. Drawing on over 25 years in the energy industry, I’ve driven significant growth in startups, turnarounds, and rapid change environments. My strategic vision enables me to establish strong governance processes and build exceptional teams by attracting top talent.
A pivotal chapter of my career involved co-founding, growing, and selling PROJEX—a privately held, full-service engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm. PROJEX became one of Canada’s leading EPCMs, specializing in oil sands within the Western Canadian market. The company earned recognition as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies in 2012. In 2015, I launched DEXEM Consulting Inc., providing capital and executive capabilities to companies in the energy, food, and water industries. At DEXEM, we shape promising entrepreneurs into exceptional leaders through guidance on long-term strategy, executive leadership, brand building, culture, and tactical execution.
As a TEC Chair, I bring my passion for transforming lives through building successful businesses. Members of my TEC groups thrive through peer collaboration, where trust, care, and constructive challenges foster their growth.
I hold an MBA from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and a Certified Corporate Director designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in Toronto. My life is enriched by my loving marriage and five children. When I’m not working, I love exploring Canada and the USA on my BMW adventure motorcycle, capturing the ride on video and sharing it through YouTube. I’m also passionate about travel, cooking, and wine appreciation.
