Saqib Cheema is passionate about helping CEOs, presidents, owners, and leaders of large enterprises reach new frontiers of personal and professional excellence. With a career that has spanned nearly 30 years, Saqib’s notable background in accounting, financial strategy, and corporate leadership is a trifecta for effectively guiding the decisions of today’s leaders. Dedicated to maximizing the value for every member of his TEC CEO peer advisory group—Saqib’s pragmatic advice and insight will challenge and inspire everyone who works with him.
Saqib’s professional career began with the largest trading company in South Korea. During this time, he worked in procurement to assess products, services, and suppliers—and successfully negotiated several of the contracts that led to the company’s current ownership of 3,500+ patents. Saqib’s succeeding roles in finance positioned him to advance to become the Chief Financial Officer at one of Toronto’s leading software companies. It was here—and during nearly a decade of tenure—that Saqib intentionally broadened his perspectives on strategy development, execution, and systems to track company progress against strategic objectives. In return, his skillset evolved to serve as an advisor to the CEO and he became a go-to resource for strategic decision-making and producing tangible results that contributed to the bottom line.
Most recently, Saqib has become a partner at several leading consulting firms and has propelled leadership excellence for many of the World’s Top 1000 Companies. He is also a Board Director for the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) – a regulator mandated by the Government of Ontario to enforce the province’s circular economy laws. As a member of the Board of Directors, Saqib is responsible for the Authority’s governance and overall strategic direction, and compliance with its mandated objectives and responsibilities under the legislation.
