TEC CEO, KEY EXECUTIVE, TEC SMALL BUSINESS, TEC INSIDE
As Chair of a number of new groups, Tim’s goal is to empower members to take ownership of the group and drive each other to achieve new heights of excellence. “I am looking for members who are successful, naturally curious, always striving to do better, enjoy helping others and who are looking for personal growth opportunities. For members to be successful, they must be willing to park their egos at the door, ask the tough questions and be open and honest with themselves and others.”
TEC Chair Tim Redpath’s passion for helping others in his spare time extends into his professional life. As President and Founder of marketing consulting firm Train of Thoughts, Tim provides counsel to a wide range of both public and private organizations, helping them to develop, grow and reach their full potential.
With specialties in the areas of strategic planning, deep dive market research, marketing audits, market development and communications, Tim regularly works with senior management teams at organizations including BOLDstreet Wireless, Elections Canada, Kanatek Technologies, Canadian Tourism Commission, Sun Microsystems and many more. His passion is helping organizations strategically focus their marketing efforts to achieve their objectives.
Known for his strategic thinking, effective communication and tireless attention to detail, Tim also brings an extensive array of in-house senior management experience to his role as TEC Chair. He previously held executive positions at Kanatek Technologies Inc. and Mitel Corporation in Ottawa and did national and international work for Mitel Telecom and Kone Elevators in the United Kingdom.
Tim’s number one priority is to recruit excellent candidates who are seeking to learn from each others’ expertise and experience in order to develop professionally and personally.
In addition to running his own firm and heading up his TEC groups, Tim mentors students from the engineering faculty at the University of Ottawa on entrepreneurship, coaches members of Algonquin College’s marketing team for the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition and is a part-time lecturer at the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University.
