As a member of a TEC Canada CEO group for over 10 years, Matthew Williams was privileged to share experiences with other executives and business owners working on real-time problem resolution with access to world class business speakers and thinkers. During this time, he witnessed the positive impact the TEC program had on the growth and shaping of businesses. and their leaders.

Matthew is highly experienced with over 30 years of expertise in CEO, COO, and VP roles, successfully leading businesses at the local, regional, and national level. In addition to TEC, he holds the position of COO at Leadersharp Group, a specialized leadership development and executive coaching organization headquartered in Calgary, with operations throughout Canada and the USA.

Matthew’s professional journey began as a Technical Sales Representative with Hilti during the booming construction and renovation period in the London, UK docklands. Throughout his career, he has led organizations with diverse service lines and multiple brands in fast-paced environments. By focusing on operational efficiency, sales performance, and customer delivery, Matthew has gained invaluable hands-on experience and insights.

Originally from Wales, UK, Matthew has worked in the UK and New Zealand before settling in Canada in 1996. Matthew played an instrumental role in scaling Agilus (previously Design Group Staffing), the largest privately held staffing organization in Canada with strong roots in Alberta, to achieve platinum membership status of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. He has actively participated in major rebranding initiatives, transforming organizations from a “house of brands” with multiple entities to a unified “branded house” structure. Matthew has also been an executive sponsor in enterprise system integrations and structural changes.

Matthew combines a strong appreciation for business strategy with a keen eye for engaging all levels of an organization to convert strategies to on-the-ground tactics. He is a strong advocate for teams being empowered to take ownership of their success. Qualifying as a Certified Executive Coach in 2009 through Royal Roads University (International Coach Federation accredited), further reinforced his belief in the potential of teams and individuals to thrive when challenged, supported, and inspired by their leaders.

Personal

• Lives in the Calgary area with his wife Alyson. Together they have three adult children, two of whom live in London, UK. Matthew and Alyson enjoy the opportunity this provides to visit and connect with old friends and family.
• You can usually find him on a soccer pitch, riding a motorcycle, strumming a guitar, and running with the family’s two dogs.
