Bill Zacharuk is the consummate senior executive, a leader whose achievements in the C-suite include high-profile mergers and acquisitions, industry-leading operational and productivity innovations and business intelligence analytics, as well as years of successfully developing and securing business for one of Canada’s largest motion picture companies. Throughout his career, Bill built strong teams through mentoring and coaching, and maintained a personal focus on staying ahead of the curve in the fast-paced motion picture equipment industry.
Bill continued at Panavision Canada – which he had joined at the age of 16 – after earning a B.A in Economics at York University and quickly distinguished himself as an exemplary and entrepreneurial business strategist, moving up through the organization to VP of Operations and ultimately to President and COO in 1999. During his 15-year tenure in this role, his business unit achieved one of the strongest P&L performances of all Panavision’s units worldwide and maintained an enviable client satisfaction rating.
Bill is a multi-faceted leader who is particularly strong on operational efficiencies and business development. He led the development of the company’s operating and rental procedures utilizing Six Sigma best practices. Bill developed and supervised the build-out of the business intelligence software that remains the core of Panavision’s quantitative analysis tools, as well as the company’s relational marketing database. He was responsible for carrying out numerous industry-changing mergers and acquisitions. Bill served on many local industry boards and became a de facto ambassador for Canada, promoting the film and television industry to the USA.
Bill believes strongly in the value of investing in personal and professional growth. So now, in addition to providing business advice through his consultancy, he is thrilled to be leading his own TEC Canada CEO group.
TEC Group Vision
Bill credits part of his success to his desire and willingness to stay as dynamic as possible; to “do more and be more with each step, always looking to improve in every aspect of life.” He believes that great CEOs need to be able to ask the right questions and assess the pertinent variables in their search for creating maximum potential incremental value. These are skills that his CEO group will develop together as they explore opportunities and issues. His leadership style will be to share experiences, explore options and motivate his members to achieve their objective.
Bill is married to Lynda Zacharuk. They have three children: Krista, Kevin and Kyle. In his spare time Bill enjoys spending time and playing sports at the cottage with his family.
