Professional
Simon Canning has devoted his career to building successful businesses and supporting CEOs, presidents, owners, and leaders of large enterprises to make a positive impact on society. Through his own eclectic journey of entrepreneurship, managing director for the world’s largest travel technology distributor, and a self-employed management consultant, Simon demonstrates that life is best lived with adventure, curiosity, and learning in mind.
Simon ran his first small business in Australia and leveraged that experience as President to spearhead a competitor launch of a chain of agencies in Canada. At an international blue-chip travel technology firm, he honed and deepened his leadership skills with international projects across the Americas and managing the world’s 3rd and 4th largest accounts. After his career in the travel industry, Simon launched his consulting practice in 2008 where he has worked in a project capacity as well as a governance advisor for organizations in IT, vehicle leasing, health regulation, insurance, construction, and travel. He has helped countless companies improve their success rate by developing strong cultures and sound board governance practices from the inside out. Creating environments where people feel valued at every level is Simon’s specialty, and his unique perspective on leadership has earned him a place as one of the most sought-after executive coaches in the Greater Vancouver region.
As a TEC Chair, Simon’s wealth of knowledge and skills are ready to be shared with his members through monthly confidential group meetings with business leaders from non-competing industries. With Simon’s dedication to providing a safe and stimulating environment to fast-track personal and professional growth, his TEC CEO group members can expect that the extreme changes in the economy, their businesses, and their professional lives are about to become a little bit easier.
