Michel Lamontagne began his career as a lawyer with St-Laurent, Monast et al in Quebec City. His curiosity and the changing fiscal environment in Canada led him a few years later to Ottawa, where he served a tax policy officer at the Federal department of Finance, dealing with the tax changes being introduced at the personal, corporate, and international levels – as well as with the overhaul of the rules applying to the charitable and religious sector. He later went back to Quebec, serving for five years a senior executive in the private financial services sector with the Laurentian Group Corporation and Laurentian Mutual Insurance Company, and later in the pharmaceutical sector, for ten years, as a member of the executive committee of Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada – before becoming a consultant and professional board member. His professional career has successfully encompassed roles as a government affairs expert and advisor, philanthropy specialist, board member of numerous for profit and not for profit organizations, as well as angel investor or advisor for successful startups and mid sized public and private entities. Michel is also a certified corporate director and certified mentor with the life sciences sector, the startup community, and the not-for-profit sector.

Michel’s extensive experience in developing businesses from the ground up has fueled his passion for guiding leaders to achieve their personal goals, while outperforming their competition. As a leader, Michel embodies thinking outside of the box and having a close group of trusted professionals to reflect and receive feedback from.

He firmly believes that business leaders do and can make a positive difference in society, exceeding corporate and community goals while creating a legacy that inspires others.
