In addition to being a well-regarded consultant with an aptitude for developing teams and systems, Brian Holmes’ also led Columbia Plastics for over a decade – a privately-held custom injection molding company. Being in leadership positions and guiding organizations through several notable economic events, Brian’s expertise extends far beyond rapid growth actions and corporate downsizing. Throughout his career, Brian’s skill set has led to implementing new technologies and training programs to develop people. A few of Brian’s innovations include introducing the first cleanroom for custom plastics manufacturing in Western Canada and implementing lean methodologies that guide companies towards optimization and added value for the customer. Additionally, Brian has also managed several non-profit organizations, including the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the SME Education Foundation.
Brian’s educational accolades include a Physical Metallurgy diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) certification, and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Brian is also recognized by the SME College of Fellows for his outstanding contributions to the social, technological, and educational aspects of the manufacturing profession.
