In his capacity as a TEC Chair, Brian merges his passion for business with his talents as an accomplished mediator, facilitator and expert in conflict management system design.
Working as a consultant, Brian provides counsel to a wide range of clients. His extensive business background, which includes senior positions in private and government organizations, have enabled him to establish and build two successful companies.
In 1987, Brian founded the Canadian Dispute Resolution Corporation (CDRC). CDRC was Canada’s first mediation service provider to the insurance industry and the lawyers who litigated cases against it, a radical innovation in 1987.
“Brian’s work with TEC gives him the opportunity to support other business leaders while gaining unique insight into the leadership challenges that CEOs face in a broad spectrum of private and public companies.”
Brian grew the business over the subsequent 15 years into a full-service conflict management organization, renamed Certus Strategies, with offices in Alberta and British Columbia. He sold his interest in the company in 2003 and immediately launched a new start-up in high tech, named SuperOffice CRM.
Once SuperOffice successfully navigated the start-up phase, Brian reduced his involvement in the day-to-day operations to become a TEC Chair.
