Brett Halliday believes in bringing the whole individual to the table to thrive in today’s competitive world. “Your personality, your sense of humour, your discipline and most importantly, your heart, will guide you to achieve your wildest dreams,” he writes.

Brett started his career in the Royal Australian Navy forming his beliefs that discipline and continuous training and development are the foundations of success. His passion and excitement for developing leaders led him to establish an internal training academy which won the coveted Retail Council of Canada award for Talent Development.

Brett was instrumental in building an in-house Private Label Credit Card program, now boasting 70,000 card holders, that continues to be the foundation of a customer loyalty program.

As a highly accomplished executive – with 27 years’ experience across a breadth of functional operations in multiple countries – Brett moved his family to Canada in 2007. Here, he spearheaded the Canadian expansion for Michael Hill Jeweller, where for over 13 years Brett built the business to 86 stores from coast to coast.

Currently, Brett is a trusted advisor to the New Zealand government and works closely with the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) to provide support and guidance for companies looking to expand internationally.

Brett is a highly visible leader who excels at building capable, committed teams with a clear focus on current and future state business performance.
