Professional

For Andrew, building high functioning teams is a business passion. He is an accomplished Technology Executive with extensive experience in R&D and commercialization in both private and public sector companies. Andrew supports organizations through a combination of management, business development and technical experience. He brings experience and strong connections with Federal and Provincial agencies that fund start-ups and SMEs.

Andrew has a wealth of experience having worked in the Greater Toronto Area over the past three decades. He has worked in R&D & Commercialization for Xerox, Ecoplastics, Ortech, Bodycote (a multinational where he was VP for a decade), and MaRS Innovation (enabling technology start-ups). Andrew has also been the CEO of two successful start-ups, including OtoSim which broke even in its second year, and has been around a decade. In addition, Andrew is a sessional lecturer in Entrepreneurship within the Masters of Engineering program at McMaster University and was Deputy Director at the government granting agency, NSERC, for a year. Andrew has mentored technology-based start-ups for a decade. As a TEC Chair, he continues his dedication to supporting entrepreneurs and growing companies to reach their full potential.

TEC Group Vision

Through a commitment to growth, Andrew looks forward to working with Knowledge-Based Small Business CEOs to take their companies (often mature start-ups) to the next level.  Start-ups are often transitioning from a ‘CEO-leads-everything’ mode to a more sustainable organizational structure. Andrew uses his experience in large and small organizations to look at issues through various lenses. Additionally, his R&D background positions him to understand important obstacles start-up businesses must overcome in the pursuit of success.
