Database Analyst

We’re looking for a Database Analyst who excels in understanding data tables in order to analyze data, build reports, and develop dashboards using Microsoft tools including Dynamics 365, Excel, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop and deploy key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards and reports; these include projective trends, budgets vs actuals, goals tracking, contest tracking, and more
  • Recommend and develop metrics that align with business goals and strategic objectives
  • Work with internal business units and executive stakeholders in creating and offering support for creation of project specific reports and dashboards
  • Provide forward trending dashboards that identify critical information on member demographics (member exit, member count, members at risk, and more) to assist the various business units and the leadership team
  • Research potential business problems, propose business models to analyze these problems, and offer potential solutions
  • Explore data; discover patterns, potential new business trends, and meaningful relationships and anomalies
  • Develop best practices guide for report deployment and design
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing team in analyzing and gathering member demographics
  • Interpret business requirements and help determine solutions in terms of tools and technology
  • Provide regular support to end users
  • Administrative and interdepartmental projects as required
  • Design and deliver end-users training material
  • Other duties and projects as required

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in business, computer science, economics or related
  • 2+ years of database experience
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 an asset
  • Experience with Power BI an asset
  • Experience with Power Query (M), Dax, and VBA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Highly motivated, reliable and goal oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of polish and professionalism
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and senior leaders
